Vman's Slow Cooked Pot Roast
We became the recipients of our first crock pot 'aka' slow cooker 30 years ago. A couple of upgrades since then athough the original still works just fine. The newer ones have semi heat control for low, medium, and high and other variations, timers, etc. Anyway I love to use the slow cooker when ever possible because it is nice to just walk away and let it happen. This recipe is really delicious and super easy. So pull out and dust off that crock pot and lets get this thang going.
Here is what you need
1 Pot roast 2-4 lbs
1 pkt dry mushroom gravy mix
1 pkt italian dressing mix
1-1/2 cups of water
Your choice of root veggies (potato, carrots, onion..etc.)
Here is what you do
Mix the contents of both dry mixes in a bowl and mix thoroughly
I always spray a little non stick cooking oil in the pan first to make cleanup easy.
Place the roast in the pan, sprinkle the seasoning powder mixture over the meat, turn it over and coat the underside.
Place whatever root veggies in the pan around the roast.
Pour in 1-1/2 cups of water
Turn on cooker to low setting and let cook for about 41/2 - 5 hours
That's it!
Enjoy!!
